Tiny Tots Music

Description: A unique musical and educational connection for the very young. Tiny Tots Music, an early childhood educational process, is based on the philosophy that music is invaluable to the growth and development of very young children. Research shows that that when a young child's brain is stimulated by active musical participation (singing, playing an instrument, moving to music), the neurological pathways for rational thinking and problem solving became more strongly developed. These early childhood musical experiences can enhanced logical, creative thought for a lifetime. Tiny Tots Music offers music-based programs for children between 6 months and 5 years old. It's Music...Brain food for Kids, using music to nourish rational thinking, vitalize emerging motor skills, fuel language development and nurture appropriate social interactions. Our Goal is to help young children grow into creative, rational, expressive, and social individual who may ultimately be very musical.

Little Mozart's Piano (4 to 7 years old)

Description: Recent studies suggest that playing and listening to music at a young age improves learning, memory, reasoning ability and general creativity. Research also support the theory that young children who are exposed to music develop ehanced cognitive skils. The Music for Little Mozarts series was written to provide appropriate piano instruction for four-five-and six year olds while simultaneously developing listening skills. The series was designed to provide a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the instrument and the enjoyment one gets from the process of music-making.

The course centers around the adventures of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse as they learn about music. Three books guide the children through a comprehensive approach to musical learning. In the Music Lesson Book, students are introduced to new musical concepts and performance of pieces at the piano as they follow the story of BeethovenBear and Mozart Mouse. Plush animals of the two characters are integral to making the course fun for young students. The Music Workbook contains carefully designed pages to color, that reinforce the Music Lesson Book. In addition, well-planned listening activities develop ear-training skills. The Music Discovery Book contains songs that allow the student to experience music through singing, movement and response to rhythem patterns. Music appreciation is fostered through carefully chosen music that introduces the students to great music through the ages. Melodies to sing, using either solfege or letter names, help students learn to match pitch and discover tonal elements of music. Correlated compact disc recording for materials in the Music Lesson and Music Discovery Books are essential to achieve the goals of the course. General MIDI disk are also available for students or teachers who have the necessary equipment. A Starter Kit includes a music bag for carrying lesson materials, a music activity board and the two plush animal characters (Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse).

Description: Educational Hip Hop is here. We recognize that children have the amazing ability to learn the lyrics to songs they hear on the radio and in music videos. Unfortunately, most of these lyrics have no educational value and often contain language that is inappropriate for children.

Educational Hip Hop takes the styles of music kids like best;Pop,HipHop and R&B, and uses singers and rappers to perform songs that actually teach important classroom subjects. Our program gives parents the tools to take advantage of children’s natural ability to learn Pop and Rap lyrics while introducing kids to geography,math,the internet, parts of speech, and the metric system. While using our method the kids get excited about learning while keeping them actively engaged in the process. When children enjoy learning they retain what they’ve learned longer and they want to continue learning even after the school day is over. Motivational and exciting!

Piano by Ear

Description: Learn to play without reading music. Its amazing how many people (including piano teachers) who, when asked to play the piano in a classroom, church, or at a party, reply by saying:

a) I can't, because I havn't got the music;
b) I can't, because the music is too difficult to read;
c) I can't, because I can't transpose.

Yet many of these people have had years of formal lessons.

This course is ideal for teachers, students, parents and members of the community who would like to accompany "singalongs".

Prerequisite: Students must be able to: sing in tune, read simple rhythm and notation, be familiar with the treble and bass clefs and the piano keyboard, have a sense of humour and a desire to learn.
